Documentary Credit Services

Our experienced staff can cope with and advise on all kinds of documentary credit requirements.

Export Packing

We can pack your goods to your own specification, and often at a fraction of the cost of rival freight forwarding companies or specialist packers. Specialist packing for heavy machinery, valuable or fragile items, can also be undertaken.

UK Haulage

By the very nature of our business, Freightair have to move cargo around the country for delivery to Manchester Airport, Gatwick Airport, London Heathrow Airport, and pick up export cargo from all points within the U.K. All Freightair offices can haul your goods either in our own vehicles, or using an extensive trunking and overnight delivery network to suit your own cost requirement, time critical, or routine deliveries. This service is handled by our export department .

Hazardous Goods Shipping

By law no dangerous goods can be handled either by the staff of an exporting company or a member of staff of a freight forwarding company who is unqualified to do so. We can act as a broker for training services, and are able to book your staff on training courses at cost.

Courier & Door to Door

We recognise that more and more, a buyer will not wish to be involved with the Freight forwarding side of his purchases from the U.K.

We can offer an Express Courier Service, which compares very favorably with other express operators, in terms of both transit time, and cost. For larger weight or volume shipments, we can also offer a more cost effective door to door service using our agency contacts overseas - please contact the export department for more details.

Bonded Warehousing

Both Leeds and Manchester offices can warehouse your bonded goods in our Bonded warehouse complex, we tailor this to your own specifications, and can "pick" and despatch as required.

T.I.R Services

Leeds and Manchester offices operate a T.I.R. service, loading some services from within our own T.I.R. Depot at Manchester.

Deep Sea Freight

Leeds Newcastle and Manchester offices operate a deep sea shipping service.

Chamber of Commerce Documentation

International documentary requirements can be very complicated. Why not let our experienced staff handle your Chamber of Commerce work for you. We can act as a broker for all Chamber services, and are able to assist your staff on any documentary requirements. Alternatively, you can authorise us to complete these documents on your behalf.

Track & Trace / Post Flight Information

Tracking and tracing for both import and export is a vital part of any modern freight forwarding business. In recent years, this has been enhanced by "The Net" and many airlines have tracking and tracing within the public domain. However, Freightair have extensive tracking and tracing facilities for all airlines and for our Consolidators which cannot be accessed within the public domain, and where often passwords and codes are required. Track and trace for general export freight, import freight, door to door, and courier shipments can be accessed with the following e-mail link: jonathan.waddington.@freightair.co.uk - or why not have a go yourself using the tracking option on the top menu bar. Our staff are more than willing to help should you need assistance in using this service.

INSURANCE SERVICES

Freightair, in conjunction with NMU are able to offer marine insurance cover for most kinds of cargo at competitive rates.

2 New Staff members at Manchester
Freightair welcomes Wayne Thorley formerley of Masnchester based forwarding company R.J.J. who joins us in a joint Sales and operational role,  and Nick Elliott who is our new operational clerical assistant, both of them have joined the staff of Freightair Manchester.

Allan Moss
Allan Moss has retired from Freightair following many happy years of service with the company since the mid-1980's. Allan celebrated his retirement with all the staff from the three branch locations at the Sheesh Mahal on Kirkstall Road, and Allan was presented with a golf range finder which we hope he will find very useful when following the fairways in Gatley.

JULIE COCKERHAM JOINS THE BOARD

Financial Cotroller Julie Cockerham has joined the board of Freightair Services as Finance Director, and will take over the role of Company secretary from Mike Long who has recently retired.
